The benefits of joining NCNLA are outlined in our vision statement: to provide essential value to members through education, marketing and advocacy.

EDUCATION

NCNLA provides resources for educational classes to help members grow their skills and gain credits towards state and national certifications. In 2020, a library of free and paid webinars will be available for members to pursue online learning on their own schedules.

NCNLA's Certified Plant Professional program is a written and plant identification test recognizes proficiency in the green industry's workforce, upgrades the status of industry professionals and provide the public with a means of identifying qualified green industry professionals. A new program will be launched in 2021.

The annual Green & Growin’ educational conference is three days of opportunities designed to help attendees build foundational knowledge and stay on top of industry trends. Members receive discounts on admission to the conference. Learn more about the show here.

MARKETING

Members can take advantage of BuyNCPlants.com, an online directory of North Carolina plant materials and supplies, by uploading their inventory at no cost. The website gives potential buyers an easy way to look for the plants and supplies they need and purchase them from one of our reputable member companies.

NCNLA developed NCGreenprints.com to promote member services and supplies to consumers. The website offers DIY projects that encourage consumers to create outdoor spaces with the help of local nurseries, landscapers and retail garden centers. Members can submit their own “greenprint” to help consumers with projects while also gaining statewide exposure.

The quarterly magazine Nursery & Landscape Notes and the biweekly eNews can help members market their services to others in the green industry through print and digital advertising at discounted rates. Learn more about our publications here.

Green & Growin’

NCNLA helps protect industry businesses by actively monitoring and disseminating information to members regarding regulation or legislature. In 2020, we were able to work quickly to provide information during the COVID-19 pandemic and its potential effect on the North Carolina green industry and our members.

Membership also helps you stay connected colleagues so you can have access to new ideas, valuable opportunities and support from others in the green industry. We have opportunities for members to serve on committees and boards that meet their interests.
